The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District is committed to open and transparent communication about its global pandemic response. This dashboard will provide week-to-week information in an effort to proactively share the impact COVID-19 is having on our school community.

We will update this dashboard by Tuesday mornings and share the following district-wide data:

  • The number of new active cases confirmed to the district for the previous Tuesday through Monday period. This number will include all positive student and staff cases reported to the district, including those who may not be learning or working in our school environments at this time.

  • The number of quarantines issued or tracked by the district for the previous Tuesday through Monday period. This number will include the total number of staff members or students who have been told to quarantine due to exposure to a COVID-19 individual. This number will include those who have been exposed on or off school property.

Defining the Data

Here’s what else you need to know about the data we are providing to you:

  • In order to respect and protect our students and staff members’ right to privacy, we will not break this information down by student/staff status or any other identifying factors at this time.
  • Once we have more than a week’s data, we will illustrate changes in numbers on a week-by-week basis through a chart made available on this page.
  • Under guidance from the Jackson County Health Department, LSR7 individuals are asked to quarantine - stay home from school, activities and/or work -  when they are determined to have been exposed to a positive case. Exposure is defined as being within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes per the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
  • The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District has a total of 17,805 students, according to 2020-21 data from September 2020.
  • The Lee’s Summit R-7 School District has a total of 2,955 staff members, including hourly substitute workers. This number does not include student workers.

All students and staff should conduct screening procedures before reporting to any LSR7 school site. For our at-home screening procedures, click here.
